About
In May of 2013, Rhiannon (34) was hospitalized for intense muscle spasms all over her body (hundreds per day), debilitating shooting pains through her body, arthritic symptoms in her hands and feet, headaches, dizziness, brain fog, and a number of other neurological issues. She was hospitalized for a week with no answers. She was sent home with a possible diagnosis of ALS. The possibility of two years to live at the age of 34, and three young children at home was devastating.
After seeing doctors at two different university hospitals, we still did not have a firm diagnosis. Rhi began digging through the gamut of tests results that were run during the week she was in the hospital. The test results showed that she had tested positive for Lyme disease antibodies and numerous other strange infections. We found a Lyme doctor who diagnosed her with late-stage Lyme disease with co-infections.
The only way to kill Lyme is through long-term antibiotic treatment and supplemental therapies. Over the past year, Rhiannon has been undergoing various treatments. She is now receiving strong antibiotics via a PICC line that delivers medication directly to her heart. The cost of the IV antibiotic treatment alone is staggering. This does not include supplemental therapy, doctor visits, testing, home health care, or treatment for the numerous co-infections that plague her and other Lyme patients.
That’s why we are reaching out to you and asking for your help. chronic lyme disease is devastating my wife and our family. We need your help so Rhi can continue the treatment she needs to beat this disease.
The benefit for Rhiannon Semens will be held on Sunday September 7th, 2014, at 115 Bourbon Street, 3359 W. 115th St. Merrionette, Park, Il. 60803 from 2pm – 7pm. We can’t wait to see you there!
